SE Region Polo Fun Day

Sunday saw over 50 signups from around the region for a day of fantastic social polo and some ridiculous matches on SUPs and Corricles where the teams appeared to be more interested in sinking the opposition rather than scoring goals. Well done Chilly for being the key person who organised a great day and thanks to all who helped with the BBQ, setting up the second pitch, taking it down, refereeing and manning the tables. Nomads deployed their second polo pitch so everyone was always only one match away from being back on the water. Nomad Polo – The Cut, Shadwell Basin

Thanks to those who represented Nomads at “The Cut Tournament” at Shadwell Basin. Great for Nomads to be represented at this Div1/2 standard tournament and although no games won Nomad scored in every game and received no cards unlike all the other teams! A great learning experience and with the number of younger players coming through the club we will get stronger in the future! Youth Polo Tournament

On Saturday 21/1/23 Nomads were superbly represented by our youth Polo team at Bedford. The team comprised of (in alphabetical order) Aled, Cameron (goalie) , George, Jenna , Lleyton and Teo.  The evening started with a tough game against St Albans A one of the best teams at the tournament and considering this was the first match playing together as a team they put on one of their best performances of the evening losing in a hard-fought match 2-1. Throughout the evening the confidence of the team grew culminating in them winning 2 games comfortably against Meridian B and St Albans B and only losing by one goal against Meridian A who scored for the win in the last 2 seconds after Cameron had kept Nomads in the game with…

Nomad A The clubs top players started the new season with renewed vigour, their aim to put last season’s missed opportunities behind them. They started well and created a platform from which to build – and build they did! Over the following six months they delivered a succession of mature performances that led them to the brink of success. Nomad A are now a force to be reckoned with, players at their peak who systematically destroy weaker opposition. The current team has been together for around five years; in that time everyone has progressed both in terms of fitness, agility, skills and guile.
