Some good things have come from the coronavirus lockdown - the Nomad Kayak Club website has undergone a major upgrade. Changes include (but are not limited to): Lots of security improvements including HTTPS (SSL) encryption between the server and your web clientNew, faster serverBetter GDPR compliant privacy optionsNew look & feelNew online membership signup/payment systemNew domain name available for those who want to use something shorter then our current URL: nomadkayak.club (both can be used) There may well be some teathing problems in the next few weeks so please bare with us. Anthony will be leading a weekend of paddling including a river trip and paddling Symond's Yat grade 2 rapids. Accommodation will be camping near the rapids or you can go down for the day. A successful weekend for Nomad Kayak Club; both at the Rickmansworth Festival and at the Canoe Polo League play-offs in Llanelli :) Chris P webmaster@nomadkayakclub.co.uk Canal Festival Success Many thanks to the 40 members who came down and supported/promoted the club at this year’s Rickmansworth Festival. Whether out paddling on the lake or back at the clubhouse running the BBQ or engaging with the public on the front desk, an enjoyable time was had by all. Across both days, our ‘Come & Try’ sessions proved popular with 66 participants taking to the water, many for the first time. As always, feedback is most welcome :) Chris webmaster@nomadkayakclub.co.uk Tomorrow's Trip The next Nomad trip is tomorrow - Sunday 15th May - Thames and St Patrick's stream, Wargrave. Matt will lead a round trip of 4-5 miles taking about 3 hours (plus lunch stop) on the Thames and St. Patrick's stream, a lovely backwater with a good flow. Hello Nomads! This week we have polo news, information about the Rickmansworth Festival and a new feature on the Nomad webiste. As always, feedback is most welcome :) Chris webmaster@nomadkayakclub.co.uk Polo Update This year's national canoe polo league is drawing to a close and two of the Nomad teams have come second in their leagues, putting the, through to the playoffs on the 22nd May. If the A team play well at the playoffs they will be promoted to the top league in the country - a great achievement! The B team are fighting for promotion to the second division.
