14 June 2015 - Thames and St. Patrick's stream A gentle 5 mile circular paddle up the Thames from Wargrave, lock portage, riverside picnic and return down a beautiful side stream with Matt. 3-4 hours. Currently it looks like there will be no coach on this trip, so for paddlers capable of looking after themselves on grade 1 moving water. Meet at 10.30am at the lay by by the green on the right after Val Wyatt marine just before entering Wargrave on the road from Henley and bring a picnic. See the trip map on Paddlepoints for St Patrick's Stream and the Hennerton Backwater, except we won't be paddling the Hennerton Backwater. Rickmansworth Festival 2015 Chairman's Report I write to you at the end of what has been an extremely successful weekend for our great club. Across the 16th / 17th of May the Nomad Kayak Club supported the annual Rickmansworth Festival, the event was held at our home waters in the beautiful Rickmansworth Aquadrome. Next weekend is the Rickmansworth Festival and your club needs your help to promote the club and let festival goers know who we are and what we do. This means we can recruit more members and remain a healthy and active club. To promote the club, we will have an information stand at the clubhouse and we will be running ‘Come and Try’ sessions on Saturday 17th at 1pm, 3pm & 4.30pm and Sunday 18th 11.30am, 1pm & 3.30pm. There will also be Canoe Polo Demonstrations on both days at 2pm. Help is required from 10am on both days. Over the weekend there will be no formal recreational or polo sessions but there will be plenty of opportunity for all members to kayak at some stage during the weekend. How…

3rd - 8th November Just a quick note to say that the Aquadrome Bridge is closed to cars for maintenance this week. Works are due to be complete by next week but there is a chance that it will take longer. Club members will have to park elsewhere and walk in on Wednesday. We will let you know if there are any updates.

Mid-Week Recreational Sessions

As of 1st October the Aquadrome car park closes daily at 6pm; this coupled with coach availability and ever decreasing daylight means that this Wednesday (24th September) will be the last mid-week recreational session of the year. Over the last 5 months, Wednesday evening recreational sessions have run continuously. Thanks to all members who attended the sessions particularly the coaches/experienced paddlers who ran/supervised the sessions. Mid-week sessions will restart again in April/May next year. Sunday recreational sessions (10am till 12pm) will continue as normal throughout the winter months.
