Symond’s Yat trip report

Trip, Trip Reports
High water levels at Symonds Yat last weekend, which meant that the rapids were slightly washed out and the water was a murky brown colour. Thanks to Steve S, Pav, Martin, Peter, Steve G and Ben for coming, with a guest appearance by Beth James. The weather held out and stayed dry. In the morning we introduced Steve G and Ben to moving water and after a few hours we stopped for lunch, as we'd had a few swims. CREAM TEAS all-round. After lunch we pushed Steve G and Ben a little harder. Well done Ben for nailing your first whitewater roll, it worked when you needed it and well done to Steve G for not giving up and getting back in your boat time after time after time. Good…

St Patrick’s stream trip report

News
On sunday the 15th of May 6 Nomads and a friend enjoyed a beautiful day paddling up the Thames from Wargrave and back down St Patrick's stream. The local fishing club had very kindly put up large signs advising caneoists to 'be careful', 'because they regularly fish the river'. Hopefully they will remember to be careful too,…

Boulter’s lock trip report

News, Trip Reports
On sunday seven Nomads and two friends enjoyed a beautiful sunny day on the Thames between Boulter's Lock and Cliveden led by Peter Scott. The river was flowing very fast making the upstream paddle a real workout. We stopped and explored a couple of backwaters on the way up before deciding to call it a day and have lunch opposite Cliveden house. The way back was much faster and we stopped by a raging Boulter's weir to have coffee on the island before finishing.
