On the 14th and 15th of January five Nomads paddled the Upper Wye between Builth Wells and Glasbury and between Newbridge on Wye and Builth Wells, two very good trips. It was Anthony and Bens’ introduction to white water, though actually more a baptism of fire with many grade 2-3 rapids and both managed extremely well with their paddling coming on leaps and bounds over the weekend.
Thanks to Peter Scott for his coaching during the weekend and this video and keep an eye out for more video of the most exciting bits yet to come.
We stayed at the very comfortable River Cafe in Glasbury, the get out point for the saturday paddle. The scenery was gorgeous throughout with a dusting of snow on the hillsides on saturday to accompany a bit of sunshine.
Welcome also to Ian on his first trip with Nomads. He’s the one paddling like a slalom champ.
Here also for your delectation is Anthony’s video of the trip …
